Written-Pole® Converter Supplies Quality Three-Phase Power to Remote Load; Meets Stringent Flicker Specification PAGE 4 Remote 3-Phase Power Source This is an advanced design “phase converter” that solves several problems and is very cost effective. The 60 HP, single-phase, Written-Pole motor is a ride-through design. The conventional 3-phase generator is sized large enough to be able to start a conventional 3-phase motor, which typically draw large starting current. The machine characteristics and specifications are shown in Tables I, II and III. Fig. 3 shows a unit mounted horizontally with the shafts coupled in-line.
